Life Skills consists of 2,887 exercises.
Life skills has a large variety of tasks in which the client can work on simple tasks such as recognising coins to working out complex problems involving money and time.
Clients are given a situation to work out the best thing to do, or what to say, watching a video and deciding how the person feels thereby increasing social communication and pragmatic skills.
There are also lots of exercises on practical and functional reading, from understanding symbols to working out complex timetables. |

“The Life Skills Module of React2 incorporates many exercises on Money, Clock and Time, ranging from basic recognition of coins, times on a clock face etc, to solving complex problems using money and time. These sections will be useful for people with aphasia, children as well as adults with learning disabilities.
Al section suitable for all client groups includes Functional Reading. We have used a variety of real life situations such as telephone book listings, following a recipe, following directions on a street plan, timetables/schedules, calendars, bills/receipts, adverts, labels, and traffic signs.
An exciting addition is a complete section on Pragmatics. This will be of interest to therapists working with client groups already mentioned, but is of additional relevance to therapists and teachers working with children and people on the autistic spectrum. Exercises include listening to a sentence - on audio and video - and determining the significance of the intonation. Exercises on Understanding Idioms has been built into this section with excellent illustrations depicting both the literal and the idiomatic meaning of that is said. Further exercises include Getting your Message Across/What Would You Say?, with a final section on being given a scenario and deciding what one would do in the given situation.
These are the initial tasks inluded in the first version of Life Skills, but already many more ideas are being generated for exciting and further additions and upgrades to the Module.”
